Jo Baring is an art historian, curator, writer and speaker, widely recognised for her contributions to modern British and contemporary art. She is the Director of the Ingram Collection of Modern British & Contemporary Art, one of the UK’s most significant collections, where she leads public engagement, curatorial strategy and the annual Ingram Prize, a major platform supporting emerging artists. Previously, she was a Director at Christie’s UK, specialising in 20th-century British art. Jo is also co-writer and co-presenter of the acclaimed podcast Sculpting Lives, which has been highlighted by The Guardian, Royal Academy and The Evening Standard. She has curated exhibitions at major public institutions and art fairs, contributed to books and journals, and regularly speaks at museums, universities and festivals across the UK.
Jo curated Aleph Contemporary’s inaugural show Willard Boepple: Monoprints in 2020, helping shape the gallery’s early curatorial vision through her thoughtful and artist-centric approach.
